4. Electronics Procuction

This week I worked on creating a PCB .

Description of the work process of the week04

For this part it is important to know the elements that make up an electrical circuit such as:

  • Virgin plate (will be made in the mini milling machine).
  • Light-emitting diode: this element allows the electrons to be lost when they pass in the form of buttons, allowing the electric current to pass in one direction, blocking circulation in the opposite direction.
  • Resistance opposes the flow of current protecting other components from being damaged.

The first step to create the circuit was to go to the fab academy and then click on content when that bar is displayed in 2024. Later, in the laboratories section there, look for the node in which I am. Download a png image of a previously designed circuit.

Once downloaded, open the internet and search for mods, this is a program that allows you to create an SVG of the scheme, it allows us to generate the file giving measurements that are what the mini milling machine will cut to create paths (ducts) through which the current will pass.

In mods you right click and several options appear, you choose PROGRAMS, A PROGRAM, and look for the machine you will use to cut the PCB, in my case it was the ROLAND SRM20 mill (I will leave a video on how to access mods).

Once the construction of the circuit was finished, once the required measurements and parameters had been given, the cutting was carried out. An SRM20 mini milling machine was used, which allows us to have more precise cuts compared to the other machines we used in the previous weeks. For engraving we used a 15 degree V-bit and for cutting we used a 0.8 two-flute milling cutter. mm diameter.

After cutting the board, we proceeded to solder all the pieces, which includes the circuit, the LEDs, buttons, resistors and a minicontroller called Xiao rp2040, which I will talk about in more depth in the coming weeks.

reflection and analysis

It is important to follow the rules in the construction of circuits, pay close attention to the current conductors of the circuit, and make sure that all the parts are perfectly soldered, so as not to generate problems with the conduction of energy.
